The Story
Everyone has a favorite watering hole, a place where friends abound and libations sweetly flow. A place without care, worry or hassle, where time stands still and only good times, great music, and a happy buzz exist.
A place to break loose from your chain and come as you are.
Step off the beaten Duval Street path and into the heart of Key West’s historic Old Town. It is here you’ll find Island Dogs Bar, doors open wide to the breezy world, happy patrons dotting the portico, irresistible ice cold beers, refreshing tropical cocktails, one-of-a-kind martinis, local live music drifting from a cozy stage. Flip flops and tank tops encouraged.
But this isn’t your average Key West experience.
Island Dogs Bar has been at home in Key West for more than five years. But in July 2010, the formerly upscale martini bar underwent a management, menu and locally-driven overhaul, and was re-launched by David Thibault, longtime general manager at Key West’s Fat Tuesday, and Jeff Sorg, Rum Barrel managing partner.
Together, the seasoned pair brought back the bar’s cool and laid-back island vibe and Island Dogs once again became the spot where local and visitors mingled over drinks–and good food. The Island Dog Bar features an impressive menu of exotic hot dogs, authentic Boston pub pizza, and top notch bar favorites specially created by Iron Chef protégé Patrick Dunn.
